Is Squidoo Closing its Doors?

Is Squidoo going to follow the trend of other social networking sites and shut out new members? Is Digg next ? How many mainstream social networking sites will follow the apparent upcoming trend? Only time will tell but I really think this will make the web a more enjoyable place.
